Ok this is a very cool fresh piece of music from India. We can’t tell you much about this song, because well, we don’t know a whole lot about these guys. But, yes, it is in English (read the subtitles, you’ll understand). It has 45 million hits in YouTube. And apparently everyone in India knows this song. And India has a billion people. Listen and go figure.

“Why This Kolaveri Di”

Ok, second post for the day.

We have a few type manics at Collective Majestic. We all agree that KLIM Type Foundry is top notch… Not that they need any reassurance from us. They know they are good. They have a few of the best looking new fonts in their portfolio.

Here is their website (vllg.com/Klim), and screenshot of the site.

I could just stare at it all day.

So you’ve heard about RIDE//SNAP A Cycle/Photography Event happening in Christchurch New Zealand.

If you haven’t scroll down and read the previous post. Quick! It’s this weekend!

So now, you’ve heard of the RIDE//SNAP A Cycle/Photography Event.

Presenting to you the RIDE//SNAP Exhibition:

Saturday, the 25th February

6pm to 8pm at Majestic House, 85B Moorhouse Avenue

1. We will present a prize for the the best photo taken (during the Cycle/Photography event).

2. There will be live art happening.

3. There will be a DJ spinning beats and remixes and sounds and sfx’s and such and such.

4. There will be coffee being made. A form of live art, you can say. Art that you can drink.

5. There will be you. Because you are coming… Yea?

Sorry boys and girls, been away for a while. But here’s a blog post to make up for the many weeks after  being MIA.

MIA…? (Missing In Action… wow, do I have to spell everything out for you?)

RIDE//SNAP is for anyone in Christchurch who’s got a bike and a camera, is keen to go for a drive around Christchurch CBD and take photos. Nothing more nothing less.

BYO bikes, yes.

Here is a sweeeet video (collab between M3Media -vimeo/m3- and Matt Kitto -cargocollective.com/mattkitto-) for the event.

Awesome video. Awesome shots. Awesome music. Awesome typography (I could eat that type, its delicious…). Why won’t you be there now, after seeing that video???

Watch. And be there.

And if you’re wondering what we are going to do with your photos that you take from that day… Fear not! We have an exhibition and will give out a prize for the best photo.

I heard somebody say the theme is based on Christchurch CBD and the rebirth of the city… But take my word, you are free to shoot whatever you want.

If you are the facebook type, you can respond ‘attending’ (or ‘join’) to the event. Invite your friends if you know they might be keen. RSVP here!

Branding for the month of December 2011 was loosely inspired by planets that orbit around the sun. We have four weeks/themes that orbit around the main theme ‘What The Doctor Said About Christmas’.

Art done on Adobe Illustrator.

This year at Majestic Church, we are studying What The Doctor Said About Christmas, simply looking into the account of the Christmas story written by Luke (well, yes he was a doctor).

Our point is, you can trust a doctor in the medical field to get his/her facts right, right? Interestingly, this guy was very concerned about little details that he carefully documented. This makes Luke a cool wee book that we can dissect and study to learn about Christmas.

December 2011 has four Sundays, so we gave the titles FORECAST, BELIEVE, SPEAK and SAVE for each.

We also have live reading of the Christmas story at every service with music accompaniment.

It is a pretty epic month, this one. The vibe of Christmas at Majestic this year is unmistakeable and it all feels back-to-the-roots (which of course, we know is the Bible).

Have an awesome awesome Christmas – and if you’re in Christchurch NZ, do join us! We’d love to see you!
